Technical Inside Sales Representative
Job Summary
QTRCO, Inc. is looking to hire a Technical Inside Sales Representative for our location in Tomball, Texas. This position is responsible for the technical sales process and primary contact for sales inquiries from all our customers. The Technical Inside Sales Representative is primarily responsible for specification review, sizing and selection of pneumatic valve actuators and accessories and other items as needed by our customers, as well as quote entry and follow-up. This position also requires assisting the Sales, Engineering and Production Teams to support daily operations like data entry, creating and managing work tickets, as well as large-scale/long-term projects specific to customer requirements or continual improvement of our product and services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist distributors in the technical sizing and selecting of pneumatic valve actuators and automation control equipment.
- Review costs and create proposals. Create quotations by calculating pricing and determine lead times based on current inventory levels and supply chain schedules.
- Work with the Sales Team, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure customer expectations are met.
Day to Day Operations:
- Review specifications and recommend correct equipment for an application.
- Develop and submit quotations and proposals that require significant technical knowledge while providing technical assistance to the Sales Team, as necessary.
- Provide accurate and timely pricing and product support. This includes interfacing with Production and Manufacturing Teams to define lead times, as well as Engineering and Manufacturing developments that affect the production schedule and timeline for completion of open orders.
- Create and participate in technical customer presentations as well as product training for the Sales Team and customers.
- Responsible for quotes and proposals being handled correctly and completed in a timely manner.
- Utilize sales skills to support the development of future business opportunities and provide customer service support for existing customers.
- Expected to be knowledgeable about existing products while learning new products and applications.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality departments to provide customers with optimized solutions that meet or exceed their requirements.
- Participate in special projects upon request by management.
- Always uphold the QTRCO reputation and effectively communicate its objectives
Work Environment:
- Frequent communication with customers and internal teams via phone, email, or in person
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods
- Occasional bending, reaching, or lifting light shipments if applicable
- Provide counter/will-call sales support for walk-in customers
- Handle light shipping and receiving as needed where applicable
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university AND/OR 2+ years relevant experience
- Technical Sales experience beneficial, but not required
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid mechanical knowledge
Other:
- Typical Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
- Compensation is based on experience, technical expertise, and overall alignment with the responsibilities of the role.
