CHALLENGE
The Pre-Load Ballast system requires Actuators to be submerged in seawater to depths of 30 feet. Actuators that were being used allowed water ingress into body cavity, which resulted in corrosion and premature wear of internal components.
SOLUTION
Q Series stainless steel actuators offer sealed internals capable of complete submersion to the specified depths. The body is not pressurized during operation and was vented topside.
RESULTS
Actuators were pressure tested and operated under submerged service with no signs of water ingress.
